Congratulations to Terrance Houle for his opening of Don Coyote, a video/musical collaboration with musician Matt Masters performed at the Glenbow Museum in Calgary, AB. This performance will be held at 7:30pm at the Glenbow Conocophillips Theatre, in co-production with the Illingworth Kerr Gallery, the Glenbow Museum, and Sled Island Music Festival.

The performance runs from June 25 - 28th, and again from July 4th - July 12th, 2008

This exhibition preview is on display at the Illingworth Kerr Gallery, June 25 - 28th, and will also be exhibited at the Glenbow Museum July 18 - September 28th.

This exhibit is co-produced by Illigworth Kerr Gallery, Glenbow Museum, and Sled Island Music Festival.

Congratulations to Barry Underwood who was awarded an Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award.


Congratulations to Terrance Houle for his recent inclusion in the long list for the 2008 Sobey Art Award. This award of $50,000.00 is presented annually to a Canadian artist under the age of 40 who has exhibited within 18 months of their nomination.

The short list will be announced May 20th, and the final winner will be announced October 1st, 2008.


Skew Gallery is pleased to announce it’s inclusion in NEXT, a new invitational art fair installed on the 7th floor of the Merchandise Mart, Chicago, April 25-28, 2008, to complement the 28th Edition of Art Chicago 2008, will offer focused curatorial visions of some of the most important developments in contemporary art.
 
For this inaugural event Skew Gallery has curated a small group exhibition called Beautiful Disaster, comprised of new works by Michael Cameron, the collaborative team Dave and Jenn, and Kristine Moran. Also exhibiting is paintings from Kim Dorland’s Red Deer, Alberta Series and photographic work From Terrance Houle’s Landscape series.
