Matt crookshank

Matt Crookshank's exuberant and chaotic paintings are full of action and spontaneity. Yet his conflicting use of colour and materials are controlled, and intentional, resulting in super expressive, sophisticated compositions. Crookshank's paintings are responses to the clashes, obstacles, and daily struggles in today's fast-paced techno-culture.

Matt Crookshank has been an integral part of the vibrant visual arts community in Toronto, working as an exhibiting artist, gallery director (Sis Boom Ba Gallery), curator, and artist lecturer. His work has been featured in several publications, including The National Post, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, and The Calgary Herald.

Matt Crookshank received his BFA from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, and in 2000 attended Centennial College where he pursued digital animation. Matt Crookshank lives and works in Toronto, Ontario.
