Daniel Hutchinson is an artist currently based in Toronto. He received his BFA from the Emily Carr Institute in Vancouver, and his MFA from NSCAD University in Halifax. He has exhibited his paintings in such venues as the Galerie Push and the Musée d'art contemporain in Montréal; Angell Gallery, G Gallery and the Power Plant in Toronto; the Khyber, Eyelevel Gallery, the Anna Leonowens Art Gallery and the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia in Halifax; Skew Gallery in Calgary; and the Sydney College of Art in Australia. Hutchinson has also taken part in the Toronto International Art Fair and the Next Art Fair presented by Art Chicago. In 2009 he received Honourable Mention for the Halifax Mayor's Award for Contemporary Visual Art and was a finalist for the 11th RBC Canadian Painting Competition. He will be spending three months living and working in Sweden as the winner of the 2011 Brucebo Summer Residency Scholarship Award.
