WIL MURRAY

Wil Murray was born in Calgary in 1978; he studied painting at the Alberta Collage of Art and Design and has maintained a bi-city studio practice in both Montreal since (2004) and Berlin (2009). In September 2008, Murray received an honorable mention in the 10th annual RBC Canadian Painting Competition Murray's work was chosen for publication in the highly anticipated Carte Blanche, Vol. 2: Painting , released in 2008 and the 2010 summer edition of Canadian Art which explored the highlights of the Montreal arts festival: Extreme Painting. He has exhibited extensively in North America, including MOCCA (Toronto), The National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa), The Power Plant (Toronto), Muséed' Art Contemporain de Montréal (Montréal). Murray's work was recently selected for the exhibition Soft Core Hard Edge curated by Marianne Elder and David Pagel which exhibits in Los Angeles in 2011. He was most recently chosen by Amir Fattal for the Atelier project at The Funkhaus, Berlin.
